Today at the 16th European Strategy Session of Council at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, president of the CERN Council Agnieszka Zalewska will take part in a round-table discussion entitled "What do we get from basic research?"
Other members include Maria Da Graça Carvalho, rapporteur for the European Parliament’s on the Horizon 2020 specific programme, Seán Sherlock, Minister for Research and Innovation of Ireland, Robert-Jan Smits, Director-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission, and Jan Van den Biesen, Vice-President for Public R&D at Philips. BBC correspondent Katja Adler will moderate the discussion.
